THE WOODACRE HOME
Nestled in a picturesque wooded area of the Bay Area by a creek, this home began its journey on the verge of being condemned. My client was determined and eager to tackle the challenge of revitalizing it. After extensive foundation work and structural repairs to address termite and water damage, every detail of this residence was lovingly restored. The home features original cedar shingles, redwood paneling, and flooring, all accentuated by a stunning solid carved entry door and stained glass windows. The charm of this property is undeniable. The design vision aimed to merge a modern rustic aesthetic, offering a fresh perspective on interior style while highlighting the remarkable architectural features, including the breathtaking ceilings. Always remember to look up! It truly embodies a harmonious blend of indoor and outdoor living.
Adjacent to the main house is a cozy cottage that will serve as a guest house. Inside, the living area doubles as a bedroom, complete with a Murphy bed cleverly concealed in built-in cabinetry. When the glass doors are opened, the balcony provides a lovely view of the meandering creek. A small ladder leads up to a charming loft that offers additional sleeping space.
